About Me

About Casey

Hello! *waves* I'm glad you've stopped by. As you've probably guessed from that title up there, my name is Casey Alane Wilson. I'm currently a Marion L. Brittain Postdoctoral Fellow in the Writing and Communication Program at the Georgia Institute of Technology, and I received my Ph.D. from the University of Florida in May 2016.

I specialize in children's literature, with an emphasis on twenty-first century young adult literature. I also work heavily with digital media, American literature, popular culture, games, and comics. I currently teach in the first-year composition sequence in the Writing and Communication Program at Georgia Tech, where my spring 2018 course will be about the contemporary teenage girl in American media.

In addition to my academic work, I am a writer of young adult fiction under the name Casey Alane. I am represented by Jim McCarthy of Dystel, Goderich, and Bourret.

When I'm not working, I'm probably hiking with my dogs, taking pictures, or watching television...although I've yet to try doing all of them at once.
